Seeker Sensitive Churches

I attend the Port Orchard Nazarene church for 7 years before leaving. I had a huge problem with the pastor jumping on the bandwagon of the seeker sensitive movement. He uses almost no scripture in his sermons anymore and what little he does are paraphrased version that are unscholarly to say the least. The church has continued to shrink in numbers over the past few years and now almost every time before the offering they are practically begging people to give by quoting all the scriptures on tithing. The strange thing is I feel like God want me to go back for some reason I don't know or understand. I can't tell you how much I don't want to. It almost make me sick (literally).

Anyways, I have been reading some stuff about the purpose driven stuff because that is what the P.O. Nazarene church is following as their guide. Here are some interesting links I found below.

The Lord will give you wisdom, Zach.

Thanks for the links. I'll take a look at them.

Seeker friendly and church growth and churchianity in general are all very tragic trends. People worship the "process" of church and marketing church instead of loving Jesus and loving one another and growing as disciples of Jesus.
