As to the issue of how God deals differently at different times with Israel and the Church. I agree with you that there is a sense in which what you say is true.
I'm continuing to examine these things. I continue to try not to be controlled by other people's systematic theologies. I want to the let the Bible speak for itself and let the chips fall where they may, so to speak.

I will continue to try to see your point of view.
And I will continue to try to understand how the various Islamic empires and the current events of Islam fit into God's description of the unfolding of world history.
But still, the Roman Empire followed the Greek. It ruled during the most momentous period of human history: Jesus' life, death and resurrection, and the Book of Acts. And I believe that it has never really ceased to exist. And the world system that exists today is really the result of the Roman Empire and its descendents.
I still see the Roman Empire as the fourth Kingdom.
The two legs do have significance as does the feet and toes, iron mixed with clay.
