Nebuchadnezzar's Dream of the Image - Daniel 2

Discuss world empires past, present, and future. What does the Bible say about the empires of the world?

Yes. I must learn more about the history of the middle east since Jesus walked the earth.

I appreciate you provoking me to examine these things, David.

Brother David,

You wrote:
And as I have learned from a respected teacher God never deals with the church and Israel at the same time.

Can you point to anywhere in the Bible where this is stated explicitly? If not, how is this principle derived from scripture?

Amen, David.

As to the issue of how God deals differently at different times with Israel and the Church. I agree with you that there is a sense in which what you say is true.

I'm continuing to examine these things. I continue to try not to be controlled by other people's systematic theologies. I want to the let the Bible speak for itself and let the chips fall where they may, so to speak.

David,

I will continue to try to see your point of view.

And I will continue to try to understand how the various Islamic empires and the current events of Islam fit into God's description of the unfolding of world history.

But still, the Roman Empire followed the Greek. It ruled during the most momentous period of human history: Jesus' life, death and resurrection, and the Book of Acts. And I believe that it has never really ceased to exist. And the world system that exists today is really the result of the Roman Empire and its descendents.

I still see the Roman Empire as the fourth Kingdom.

The two legs do have significance as does the feet and toes, iron mixed with clay.
