David, You wrote, in red, in response to my number 6 proposal: 6. From that point on, the Textus Receptus manuscripts ceased to be the preserved word of God, and now the King James English translation became the word of God. NO; Nothing ceased from being what has always been nor will it. The Holy Bi...

Zack, we need to encourage Dusty to post his other articles on his site. Also, you can go to the Media Spotlight site and use their contact form to request the articles be sent via the postal service. In these debates it sometimes appears that the choice is between KJV Only versus defending the mode...

David, I've quoted below your comments (in red, responses to my numbered items) that relate to this topic. Thanks for the input! 4. King James commissioned various scholars and clergymen to make an English translation of the Textus Receptus. YES a good read is The Rules to be observed in the Transla...

Infallibility of King James Translators
In order to believe in the King James Only position, it seems to me that one must believe that our Lord gave to the King James translators a similar authority and infallibility as He gave to the Apostles who over saw the writing of the New Testament. Is this reasonable? This is the place to discuss ...

In Dusty Peterson's article he speaks of two groups of manuscripts: Group A: Is made up of what came to be called the Textus Receptus Group B: Those manuscripts promoted by Wescott and Hort. Here's more of what Dusty Peterson says about these two groups of manuscripts: In the previous piece we learn...

Zack,
I agree that the question of the infallibility of the KJ translators is an important one.

Please try to discuss things without offending. I'm one to talk. Sometimes I think it is necessary to risk offending people to ensure they are awake and so they don't just think they are listening to the normal Evangelical Churchianity drivel. But... I think that David and Zack are both awake and li...

An Outline of David's views
Brother David, Let me outline what I understand you to be saying about how God has preserved his word: 1. Our Lord used men, either Apostles or under the authority of Apostles, to write the words for our New Testament in the original manuscripts in Greek and Aramaic. 2. God enabled believers in Chri...

New Testament Manuscripts: Family A and B
"The "New Testament" portion of Bibles today is based on one or the other of two "families" of Greek manuscripts. For simplicity Dusty called these families "A" and "B". Members of family B can differ from family A by as much as 10,000 words, but they can...
