In what way does the New Testament teach that followers of Jesus should be in unity?

In what way does the New Testament teach that we should separate from the world?

Zach, When I first became a Christian I subscribed to the magazine, "Wittenburg Door". I loved it at the time. Eventually I came to see them as leaning to the left of Evangelicalism, which by itself, is not a major problem with me. I am willing to take part in discussions with the so-calle...

Unity but not Unequally Yoked

Unity but not Unequally Yoked Dear anonyms, You wrote: Actually i started reading bible seriously after realizing christians who prefer to segregate according to their own understanding of God's word rather than the absolute truth it preaches. Some of them prefer to be called as catolics, protestan...

Check it out, brother!

In a sense, yes, and yet check this out!
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Anonyms, You are very kind and it is a great encouragement to hear how the Lord is working in your life. You set an example for others when you devote yourself to learning the Bible.

Amen, brother Zach. I agree. In some ways this can be a complex issue of manuscripts and "church fathers". But in other ways it is simple and straightforward. Even if a person does not agree with us about "sola scriptura" at the very least we can say what ever is written ought to...

The Apostle's Doctrine

The Apostle's Doctrine In Acts it is noted about the believers: And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:42 The Apostles taught from the Old Testament scriptures and oversaw the writing of the New Testament scriptures. ...

Yes. That's the same Arne. I very much appreciate that brother. I learn a lot when he teaches. I don't know too many people who know as much of the Bible as he does. He and I don't agree on everything. But it is a privilege to fellowship in the same assembly. Jim B.

The Word of God

Zach, This is a very important subject. It is overwhelming to me, and yet we ought to be willing to undertake it. I scanned over the article you link to and it is representative of discussions I've taken part in before. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, fo...

Some thoughts from my friend Arne

Dear Anonymous/Guest, Thanks for asking this question. It got a few of us looking into the word of God and that's great. You and Zach had a miscommunication, but I hope that you both will forgive each other and keep talking. Below are some thoughts from my friend Arne. Lord bless all! Jim B. God cal...

Using titles such as Reverend or Pastor or His Holiness

Using titles such as Reverend or Pastor or His Holiness I think it is reasonable to explore in the New Testament whether we should assign such titles to men. First, are there any verses in the New Testament that explicitly command us to assign such titles? Next, are there any verses in the New Test...

Jesus IS coming back... and it may be soon

I am grateful to the Lord Jesus that He will return and that it maybe very soon. While I don't endorse Watchman's Sean's site, I welcome his taking part in the discussion. When it comes to the issue of Nephilim, I disagree that they are the result of a union between angels and humans. Also, that vie...
